Breach of Privacy
Carmichael Gallery is pleased to announce Breach of Privacy, a group exhibition featuring works by five New York-based artists.
Yasmine Chatila, Hilo Chen, Adam Krueger, Alyssa Monks and Jaclyn Santos are showcasing their work using a range of media. They’ve combined their creative thoughts to explore ideas of voyeurism in its shifting states of ecstasy, release and isolation.
Each artist presents their ideas in his or her own unique voyeuristic way, some oblique, others candid and all an imaginative insight into the artists mind.
“My goal is to capture the moment and distill its essence without exposing anyone’s identity. I am not interested in who these people really are. Not knowing allows me the freedom to project onto them and fill in the gaps with my imagination.” Yasmine Chatila.
Artists:
– Yasmine Chatila (b. 1974, Cairo, Egypt)
– Alyssa Monks (b. 1977, Ridgewood, NJ USA)
– Jaclyn Santos (b. 1984, Pittsburgh, PA USA)
– Hilo Chen (b. 1942, Yilan, Taiwan)
– Adam Krueger (b. 1982, Elburn, IL USA)
The exhibition runs until Saturday 11 June 2011.
