The Little Black Jacket
The Little Black Jacket – Chanel’s Classic Revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld launched in Sydney, Australia on Thursday 25 October.
The party was electric. The exhibition of photographs from the book was captivating on many levels, from the scale of the exhibition to the dot printing technique produced by publishing house Steidl who’s representative hung each piece staying true to the company’s wish to maintain control of every step of the process.
The one image burnt into mind is the one of Tuki Brando. A classic image that appears very Mona Lisa-like to me. A classic. Just like the little black jacket he wears so simply demonstrating how Lagerfeld’s redesign of Chanel’s classic is astoundingly versatile which can be worn by anyone.
