The Vibrant City

Sao Paulo, Brazil is a city known for its street art and vibrancy. Choque Cultural Gallery plays an important role in valuing the city’s new art forms, with their annual group exhibition; Colectiva Choque 2013.

The exhibition explores practices that have developed on the street or from street culture.

Artists exhibiting at Colective Choque 2013 include:

– Rafael Silveira; mixes classical motifs with a contemporary style.

– Stephan Doitschinoff; seamlessly integrates references from religion and the street.

– Carlos Dias; known for his bold and psychedelic paintings.

Pabst Mariana Martins, Baixo Ribeiro and Eduardo Saretta founded Choque Cultural in 2004. The gallery stands true to its name (Culture Shock) by remaining dedicated to the experimentation of new languages, placing importance of the artist’s vision.

Colectiva Choque 2013 runs until Saturday 11 May 2013.
