Boucheron and Hiroshi Sugimoto

To mark Boucheron’s presence of 120 years at the 26 Place Vendôme, Paris, the Maison is exhibiting works by the artist Hiroshi Sugimoto.

The selection of Sugimoto’s images has been taken from his Revolution series, a series of photographs that explore a relationship between light and dark and evoke a spiritual sense. The black and white seascapes are of imposing size and are the product of the artist’s deep meditation on light, water and air.

The enigmatic images are presented alongside Boucheron’s most recent jewellery collection ‘Hôtel de la Lumière’. The collection is an ode to light, celebrating that of the stones themselves, the work of the hands that intensify them and the beauty that shines through them. All of the pieces in the collection draw reference from the Boucheron archive, and give history a contemporary aesthetic.

The exhibition brings Boucheron and Sugmioto together, celebrating a common theme of beauty in light. The works will be on display until Friday 25 October 2013.
