Giorgio Armani: One Night Only in Paris
Giorgio Armani’s One Night Only event travelled to Paris during Couture week, showing the brand’s Privé SS14 collection.
An exclusive dinner at the Palais de Tokyo created the setting for the House’s Privé SS14 collection. The One Night Only event has previously travelled to London, Tokyo, Beijing, Rome, and New York.
The collection featured a range of global influences, characterised by intricate patterns, embellished turbans and oversized earrings. Tailored jackets accompanied skirts in a reference to the brand’s history in menswear, while pants were voluminous and worn with softly cropped jackets. Embellished details completed a series of unique garments that formed a glamorous collection of eveningwear.
A website established for the event explores a social innovation, allowing visitors to contribute via social media to a continuous stream of images and quotes. The interactive component captured a snapshot of the event and the responses to the collection.
The event also marked the Paris opening of the House’s retrospective exhibition titled, Eccentrico. ‘Eccentrico’ is on display at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris until Sunday 26 January 2014.
