Milan Fashion Week: Speaks of the City

Milan Fashion Week speaks of the city, with Italian glamour and a rich history of luxury and style.

Fashion is central to the cultural fabric of the city of Milan with Gucci, Valentino, Versace, Prada, Armani and Dolce & Gabbana all with established headquarters there. Design, craftsmanship and art culture are key drivers of the industry, which results in a style that can be viewed as part of the essence of Italy.

Notable brands that are presenting their collection over the remaining days of Milan Fashion Week AW 14/15 include:

Bottega Veneta

Renowned for its leather goods Bottega Veneta, plays an active role in preserving the Italian leather industry and the traditional role of a leatherworker. The brand’s Scuola della Pelletteria aims to support future leather artisans and ensure that Bottega Veneta’s production is authentic in its creation.

Bottega Veneta will present their collection on Saturday 22 February at 09.30am (CET).

Marni

Marni established themselves as a label with their approach to designing with fur. Representing design diversity, Marni has also entered the realms of furniture design. Marni has launched two collections of chairs at Salone Internazionale del Mobile.

Marni will present their collection on Sunday 23 February at 10.15am (CET).

Trussardi

What originally began as a glove factory the early 1900s grew to become a fashion house producing menswear and womenswear collections, and a range of accessories. The design capabilities of Trussardi extend beyond fashion and have encompassed projects such as interiors for Alfa Romeo cars and a restaurant, Il Ristorante Trussardi Alla Scala, which serves an array of Italian gastronomy.

Trussardi will present their collection on Sunday 23 February at 3.00pm (CET).

Milan Fashion Week AW14/15 runs until Monday 24 February 2014.
