Kaamos Group: Traditionally Influenced

The Kaamos Group is a selection of designers from Finland, whose creations bring to life Finnish culture through design.

Consisting of five designers, the Group bring a variety of design and art disciplines including furniture design, ceramic and glass design, graphic design and applied art. As a whole, Kaamos Group also remains inspired by the culture that surrounds them in Finland, and the traditional production processes of the nation. This is seen in the way Finnish textile techniques are used in the creation of carpets crafted from Finnish sailing rope. Finnish culture is ingrained throughout the Group’s process.

Members of the Kaamos Group include Erik Bertell, Vesa Kattelus, Katriina Nuutinen, Anna Palomaa and Matti Syrjälä. Their work has been exhibited all over the globe.

After celebrating their fifth anniversary in 2013, the Kaamos Group will launch a new concept during Helsinki Design Week in Finland later this year.
