Artemide at London Design Festival

Throughout the London Design Festival, Italian brand Artemide will pay homage to the great architects of our time.

Artemide have designed three key initiatives that will take place throughout the London Design Festival, which will explore their relationship with architecture. Through an exhibition, an installation and participation in Design Junction, the brand will highlight the way great architects engage with Artemide’s products and utilise them within their work. See below for the details.

A Tribute to Light at the Italian Consulate

In partnership with the Italian General Consulate in London, Artemide will present A Tribute to Light, an exhibition that will combine photography and lighting products to take over the street level windows of the Consulate’s Farringdon Street building. A body of photographs by world-famous photographer Elliot Erwitt will fill the windows and portray leading architects who have collaborated with Artemide. A selection of iconic products will also be on display. The exhibition will run from Friday 12 September until Wednesday 31 December 2014.

Contemporary Masters’ pieces at Artemide London Showroom

Artemide’s London Showroom will host Contemporary Master’s Pieces an installation featuring the most recent products developed by the leading lighting manufacturer. The installation will include state-of-the-art lighting solutions designed for projects across residential and architectural. Artemide has an ongoing association with leading names in the world of architecture and is well represented by products on display by David Chipperfield (Conica), Carlotta de Bevilacqua (Incalmo, Incipit), Michele de Lucchi (Ambrosia), Herzog & de Meuron (Unterlinden), Ross Lovegrove (Space Cloud, Mercury), Jean Nouvel (Objective, Equilibrist) and Zaha Hadid (Genesy). The showroom will host the installation from Saturday 13 September – Wednesday 31 December 2014.

Artemide at Design Junction

Design Junction strikes a balance between creative and commercial, offering a much-needed alternative to the traditional trade show. Artemide will participate in Design Junction with a selection of innovative products including Carlotta de Bevilacqua’s Algoritmo System, Giuseppe Scutellà’s Pirce, in new colour finishes and LED versions, and Ernesto Gismondi’s Ilio – all displayed at the show’s dedicated area Lighting Junction. Experts in combining traditional techniques with the latest lighting technologies, Artemide will also present Empatia by Carlotta de Bevilacqua & Paola di Arianello, a piece which incorporates hand-blown Murano glass and LED lighting. Design Junction takes place from Thursday 18 – Sunday 21 September 2014 within The Sorting Office, London.
