Everywhere but Now: Thessaloniki Biennale

Today marks the beginning of the 4th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art. An event that will transform the vibrant city of Thessaloniki, Greece into a mecca of contemporary art.

Αdelina von Fürstenberg, the event’s curator notes, gives an insight into this year’s theme and notes that “the Biennale’s title Everywhere but Now closely relates the question of space (everywhere) … with the question of time (now) of creation in our contemporary world.”

Over 50 artists from 25 countries will present their paintings, sculptures, photography, video installations, films and performances. Notable artists who are presenting their work include Marina Abramovic, Jafar Panahi, John Armleder and Ghada Amer

The 4th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art runs until Friday 31 January 2014.
