Festival de Cine de Bogotá

Celebrating its 31st Anniversary in 2014, the Festival de Cine de Bogotá (Bogotá International Film Festival) returns in 2014.

Since it’s inception in 1984, the Festival has shone the light on Colombian films and the talent the country has to offer in the filmmaking spectrum. The Festival also features a range of films from around the world, and this year as part of the 2014 event, a major focus will be placed on the films of Filipino director Jeffrey Jeturian, which will feature in a retrospective. Included as part of the retrospective is the film Ekstra (The Bit Player), which focuses on a day in the life of Loida Malabanan, who plays the lead character of the filming of a soap opera. The film follows the filming of the soap opera, revealing the truth behind-the-scenes.

Festival de Cine de Bogotá will take place from Wednesday 22 – Thursday 30 October 2014.
