Dreamtime

After connecting on Instagram, eclectic Swiss artists Husmann/Tschaeni have collaborated with Australian musicians Ginger and the Ghost on the set and costume design of their Switzerland performance.

Ginger and the Ghost’s sound is pop, alternative and catchy with alluring vocals recorded in a spontaneous way. They utilise tools at hand to deliver their sounds – from bicycle wheels to body percussion, bass, beats and anything else that works in the soundscape of the tracks.

The sets follow the same spontaneous formula as Ginger and the Ghost’s music, created from a range of materials including branches, lighting and fabrics. Titled Dreamtime the set allows Missy, Ginger and the Ghost’s singer, to appear supported on a cloud. The design is intended to move, breaking down the relationship between time and space.

The magnificent colours of the costumes brought the artists in line with the performance space. The children of Husmann/Tschaeni performed at the beginning of the show, a performance within their magical dream world, which intended to enchant the audience.
