Connected
fluoro are giving away a double pass to the Sydney Premiere of Connected, the new work by contemporary dance company Chunky Move.
In their sell-out, international sensations Glow and Mortal Engine, Chunky Move pushed limits by immersing dancers in an illusory world of motion tracking and projection technology.
Connected is a dynamic collaboration between Californian kinetic sculptor Reuben Margolin and Chunky Move’s Gideon Obarzanek.
“Digital technology is side-stepped in favour of pure mechanics,” Chunky Move.
Obarzanek animates both the body and the machine through physical connection between the dancers and Margolin’s purpose-built, kinetic sculpture. Beginning with simple movements and hundreds of tiny pieces, the dancers develop a live sculptural piece.
The Sydney season runs from 10 – 14 May 2011 at Sydney Theatre Walsh Bay.
To go into the draw to win a Premier double pass for Tuesday 10 May 2011, please leave a comment below about what pure mechanics in relation to art, dance or music means to you.
The winner will be notified via email on Monday 9 May 2011.
