Pawel Fabjanski
Poland based photographer Pawel Fabjanski sees more than a camera, a lens and an image.
He creates works that he himself would like to see – images that are beautifully full of tension and secrecy.
Fabjanski combines these aspirations with ‘urban style’, a style he defines of a mixture between inspiration and non-removable symbols of his generation: extreme sports, street art, comic books and real or fictitious superheroes of pop culture. He creates art pieces where both the aesthetics and the concept are highly valued.
As photography embraces the digital age, Fabjanski reveals he sees no threat in the ongoing digitalization of an images’ creation. His idea is that “photography is all about ones idea and vision”. He acknowledges that contemporary photography is very often a team effort, however, he strongly believes the role of a photographer remains unchanged no matter the situation or moment in time.
“It is he who creates, passes on energy to his workmates and puts all his efforts in order to get the final effect. While lecturing at the Polish National Film School, he often defines the photographer’s credibility this way.
Premiofotografico, Associazione Nazionale Fotografi Professionisti – the quality award in creative and professional photography, awarded Fabjanski with the ‘Best Advertising Photographer’ title in 2009. His works also appeared in the prestigious ‘200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide’ issued by Luerzer’s Archive in 2006.
