London Design Festival 2011
With an expected 180 partners and more than 250 events celebrating the world’s creative capital, the London Design Festival, which is in its ninth year, will be the largest and most significant Festival to date.

Alan Fletcher – The Art of Looking Sideways: The designer of some of Britain’s most memorable graphic identities, showcases his preparatory materials and original notes. Thursday 25 August – Saturday 1 October 2011.
Atrium – Wall Rupture: This highly anticipated event, appears as a crack within a wall’s surface, releasing a beam of jagged, radiant light. Monday 19 – Friday 23 September 2011.
Bocci – 39: Composed of multiple trumpet-shaped pendants powered with LED spotlights, this new chandelier boasts the idea of there being no two pendants alike. Available for view during the entire Festival.
Thierry Jeannot and Gisela Steigler – Enlightened Waste: An enchanting light installation created from 1,500 PET bottles and a series of lamp sculptures carved out of polystyrene boxes. Available for view during the entire Festival.
Kvadrat – Textile Field: An expansive, coloured foam and textile piece on which visitors can comfortably lounge and contemplate the surrounding space. Thursday 15 – Sunday 25 September 2011.
Minotti and Anna Torfs: An exhibition of extraordinary glassware. Minotti and Anna Torfs use traditional glass techniques as a base from which to explore creative contemporary designs. Monday 19– Saturday 24 September 2011.
M&C Saatchi – The Brutal Simplicity of Thought: This display brings to life the stunningly simple concepts that have changed the world, from God to the humble paper clip. Available for view during the entire Festival.
Perspectives – Presented by John Pawson: As part of St. Paul’s Cathedral’s tercentennial, John Pawson will present an installation located within the Geometric Staircase in the Cathedral’s South West Tower. Click here for more information on unique installation. Monday 19 – Friday 23 September.
Skandium – Tangle: A convoluted stool for two, ‘Tangle’ is at once complex and disarmingly simple. Available for view during the entire Festival.
