Design, Music, Art and the Online Sphere
During the upcoming Melbourne Pausefest 2011, two artists from very different backgrounds will make their mark: music collective HAHA Industries and digital artists Efozy. fluoroDigital spoke to them about the strong connections between music, design, art and the online world.
(f) Your work focuses on the ‘moment and environment of people and places’. What is it about people and places that interest you?
(Efozy) Being a stranger in a place that I’ve never been is a good feeling to me. Even going back to places I’ve been, re-visiting always brings on nostalgia. Everywhere we go, what we see, what we have is a different experience and a different story. In order to adapt yourself into the environment, you have to observe then learn how to be a part of it.
The learning process is the moment where you discover the aesthetic of what you’re experiencing. As a result, it will be good if we can document it and transform it into something that can be share with everyone through audiovisual documentary.
(fD) What do you see is the connection between music, design and the online world?
(HAHA Industries) Music and design go hand-in-hand as they are thought provoking – it’s up to the individual to decide what they think of it all – a personal experience shared by many at one time and you can take it or leave it. An aural association with sound has its meanings so it’s quite imperative that this is shown visually best it can, which also has its own point.
(f) Where do you find the best design and music comes from?
(HAHA Industries) The real stuff is a relation to the meaning to the music and that can cross over into anything, that’s where it comes out best, from the heart.
