The Bird’s Nest
The natural world is wondrous in providing a peaceful break from the intensity of day-to-day life in the city. Treehotel have taken this concept to the next degree, creating a series of rooms suspended amongst the sky, teetering between branches and designed to harness the calming power of nature.
The Bird’s Nest is one of these treeroons; an intricate recreation of a nest on an epic scale. Playing on the distinction between indoor and outdoor, the Bird’s Nest creates a hiding place for its patrons. The delicately weaved branches of the outside draw you in and hide you away amongst the trees. However, once inside, the room becomes intimate and familiar, with enough comfortable space for up to four people. If guests arrive, they can reach the previous unreachable room with the help of a retractable staircase. Windows are subtly hidden amongst the branches, providing both a sense of light and privacy simultaneously.
The creators of Treehotel took inspiration from the movie ‘The Tree Lover’, a philosophical story of three men who decide to rediscover their roots by creating a tree house together. With Scandinavia’s leading architects on board, five unique treerooms were designed to provide high quality accommodation in an unspoiled natural environment in which stress and anxiety quickly fade away.
Treehotel is located in Harads, Swedens.
