Rio Chaise Longue – Oscar Niemeyer
With his signature abstract forms and curves; Oscar Niemeyer’s Rio Chaise Longue arrives at Espasso.
Known as a ‘sculptor of monuments’, Niemeyer has been praised for being one of the greatest architects of his generation. In this collaborative work with his daughter Anna Maria Niemeyer, the Rio chaise, designed in 1978, remains a classic and timeless piece.
Made from curved compressed laminated wood lacquered in black with Brazilian artisan wickerwork, the Rio chaise longue will be available for the first time at Espasso in the United Kingdom, an organisation that specialises in modern and contemporary Brazilian furniture.
