Cachetejack
Nuria Bellver and Raquel Fanjul are Cachetejack. Based in Valencia, Spain this illustration duo takes to the universe of colours, energy, humour and irony.
The hand drawn work of Cachetejack takes a fresh and unique style working in a variety of mediums, including—but not limited to—books, magazines, newspapers, clothing, drawing, painting, walls and illustration. Cachetejack combines reality with their own twist to create situations and environments the viewer can relate.
fluoro spoke to the duo about their calling, inspiration and what’s next.
(f) Why did the both of you decide to unite?
(C) We share studio and flat so we live almost 24 hours together! We speak about all the ideas we have in common and both of us paint and draw.
We work for our cachetejack team so we always try to get a new way to do the things that mix Nuria and Raquel personalities.
(f) What is the inspiration behind your work?
(C) Lots of artists, illustrators, fashion and object design from around the world! Flea markets, shapes, friends… all give us new ideas!
(f) What makes you different from the rest?
(C) We think our sense of humour and how we use it to tell experiences!
(f) How does being based in Valencia influence/impact your work/style?
(C) Our work is jolly, funny, colourful…we live in a city with sun and hot weather!! In winter, the coldest days are 10 degrees so that’s makes your days positive!
(f) What is next for the future?
(C) We move to Switzerland in January and after we will go to Berlin. We are sure there will be changes in the way of telling things!
