Flowers or Nothing
Galerie Odile Ouizeman presents ‘Des Fleurs Sinon Rien!’ a group show uniting eight artists captured by the hidden messages behind the innocence of the flower.
Working with sculpture, music, video and fashion, artists use the flower motif to raise issues of genetic manipulation, violence in the media and excess of consumer society.
The exhibition includes Ole Ukena’s ‘Handy Evolution’ in which a series of hyper realistic hands grow out of flowerpots to represent different phases of attitude towards life from birth to death.
Yves Ackermann’s video, ‘My Love Soon,’ shows fragments of coloured flowers explode in extreme slow motion; accompanied by music from Swedish composer, Baldiun.
‘Des Fleurs Sinon Rien!’ will be on display until Saturday 1 June at Galerie Odile Ouizeman, Paris France.
