Chanel: Women Only
Chanel has announced their AW13/14 pre collection with a short film by Karl Lagerfeld titled Women Only.
The narrative of the film is set within a Parisian cinema, as guests arrive they are informed that it is a ‘women only’ night. The film features a selection of personalities who are often seen within Chanel’s campaigns and as they take their seats in the theatre, glimpses of the AW13/14 pre-collection shine through. Lagerfeld himself features within the film, greeting guests and informing them of the film’s theme; “Coco Chanel’s boutique opening in 1913, 100 years ago.”
Chanel’s iconic leather threaded chained bags and bracelets feature heavily within the AW13/14 pre-collection. Bold Peter Pan collars add detail to floor length dresses and jackets, while bows adorn knitted sweaters. The collection is largely chromatic and conveys details through knitted patterns that are carried across skirts, jackets and tights.
