Studio Bouroullec
Studio Bourellec has created projects for the likes of for Alessi, Issey Miyake and Kvadrat, all thematically tied around the function of space. A retrospective of the work of the Studio, titled Momentané, is on display at Arts Décoratifs, Paris.
Over eight hundred square metres of gallery space have been dedicated to show the projects that the duo has designed over the duration of their collaboration. Conceived like a retrospective, the exhibition will retrace every stage of their international career, including their very latest creations. The exhibition is articulated around a wide central space, in which Studio Bourellec has crafted a central textile screen. The architectural screen will host an installation of their modular works presented on the partitions – Algues, North Tiles, Twigs and Clouds.
A more intimate area displays objects and furniture organised into sequences and paired with a large number of original models, offering a true insight into the duo’s work. “Momentané showcases all aspects of what we do and it is indeed the opportunity to present research models, as well as about 300 drawings and also films and photography,” says the Studio.
Studio Bouroullec is a collaboration between brothers, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. Momentané is on display until Sunday 1 September 2013 at Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.
