MOCAP: bamboo clock
The cinematic process of motion capture has inspired the subtle design of the MOCAP bamboo clock.
Motion capture is used in the process of creating animation films in order to translate human movement into digital information. The MOCAP clock reflects this process by exploring the notion of movement. The white orbs that form the clock’s numbers are reminiscent of the markers pinned to the human body for the motion tracking process. When viewed from different angles MOCAP’s numbers slowly dissolve and the orbs appear to float in an optical illusion.
MOCAP was designed by Dutch product designer, J.P.Meulendijks and retails for €186 (AUD$270).
