Ricardo Andrez SS14: Blind
Ricardo Andrez’s SS14 collection ‘Blind’ was presented at Lisbon Fashion Week.
Set against the historical interior of the runway location, the collection appeared futuristic, referencing cosmic elements and evoking a sense of ‘outer space’. A series of goggle-adorned caps highlighted this concept.
Mesh was a key fabric seen throughout and was applied to create sheer panels on shirts. Black mesh panelling was used in layers over beige pants to create detail, while draping mesh robes were worn against bare skin. Wet look fabrics were also a feature and created shine on shirts, shorts and panels of sweatshirts.
Ricardo Andrez’s artist statement for the collection:
“Flesh is called infinity. And Cosmos collapse lacking delusion. Holographic memory is real time travel. Time is happening like a sunstroke. Insolation makes your dreams come true. Perceptual distortion it’s real daydream. Distorted perception breaks reality.”
Andrez is based in Lisbon, Portugal and founded his label in 2008.
