Innovation in Time Keeping
Ball introduces a first in timepiece design, with the release of the patented SpingLock® System. The system has been put to the test by Eric Singer, drummer of the band KISS.
Since 1891, Ball Watch Company has been producing timepieces with the most stringent criteria for precision, quality and reliability. The SpringLOCK® System is a revolutionary anti-shock system that enhances watch accuracy by reducing the balance-spring shock impact by 66%. The SpringLOCK® absorbs the energy created when the watch is subjected to external impacts. Such impacts can cause standard mechanical movements to vary by up to 60 seconds a day.
In order to highlight the accuracy of the innovative technology, Ball looked to Singer as the perfect candidate to test the functionality of the watch. Eric Singer wore the first prototype on stage when performing in Milan and then tested the final product during KISS’s Tokyo performance. The timepiece maintained time throughout Singer’s energetic performances with only a few seconds difference.
To begin Ball will endow a few models with the SpringLOCK® System; The Engineer Hydrocarbon Black, The Engineer Hydrocarbon Airborne and the Trainmaster Cannonball.
