Jacquemus AW 14/15

Jacquemus’ AW14/15 collection at Paris Fashion Week was instilled with the notion of youth, as Paris look inwards to discover its next generation of talents.

Simon Porte Jacquemus launched his label Jacquemus at the age of 19 and continues to balance himself into the world of contemporary French fashion.

As guests arrived at his AW14/15 show they were asked to wear a sheer smock. It became clear that the request represented Jacquemus’ ambition for the audience to focus on the clothes, not on the people in the front row.

The AW14/15 collection presented a mixture of warped neoprene jackets and dresses that cut into an imperfect circle. Tartan prints, oversized suiting and cookie-cut garments were also seen throughout. The collection was canvassed with brilliant whites offering colours of cobalt blue, yellow and a severe orange. The colours evoked a sense of bold youthfulness and modernity.

The designer pinched his Comme des Garçons Play shirt as he exited after a full circle of the runway. The act was a nod to the brand whose Paris boutique Jacquemus has continued to work at despite having his own label.
