SCOPE Art: New York 2014
SCOPE Art returns to New York for its 14th edition, bringing the best contemporary work from emerging and mid-career artists to the city.
The event is celebrated as the premier showcase for international emerging contemporary art and multi-disciplinary creative programming. The New York edition of SCOPE will see galleries hailing from 22 countries exhibit a diverse selection of artists. Special events will extend beyond art with innovative work across multiple creative industries, including fashion, film, music and performance being presented.
Highlights of the SCOPE Art include:
– Lori Zimmer and Moniker Projects present “We’re Speaking the Same Language?” a survey of artists from the UK and the US that references the traditions and similarities between the cultures and artists of each country.
– SCOPE’s Breeder Program introduces new galleries to the contemporary market. The program provides an opportunity for new galleries to share their artists with a variety of viewers. Breeder Program alumni include: Peres Projects, Berlin; Galeria Enrique Guerrero, Mexico City; Daniel Reich Gallery, New York; and Bischoff/Weiss, London among other notable galleries.
– Exhibitors on display bring a global snapshot of contemporary artwork, with artists from Japan to Norway on display. A selection of iconic works on display create context against the emerging artists with pieces such as Yves Klein’s 1963 ‘Table Rose’ on display.
SCOPE Art consists of shows that are held in Miami, Basel, New York, London and the Hamptons. SCOPE New York will take place from Friday 7 – Sunday 9 March 2014 at Skylight at Moynihan Station, New York.
