Christian Pearson: Industrial Graffiti
The latest series of work by Australian photographer Christian Pearson, titled Industrial Graffiti, explores graffiti found within the existing urban environments.
Pearson’s work explores the unconscious aesthetic created by labourers, technicians and engineers during the construction of our urban built environment. This purposeful defacing has no artistic intent and is simply a method for preparing, advancing and communicating on a project site. For Pearson, the marking is an ephemeral part of a process that leads to the creation of a new, functional and aesthetic objective.
Pearson’s work specialises in landscape, industrial and architectural photography. Industrial Graffiti is on display at Edmund Pearce Gallery, Melbourne, Australia until Saturday 28 June 2014.
