KENZO: Grace to the Nth Power
An interactive video exhibition launches the KENZO Pre-Fall 2014 collection, allowing users to take a journey into the uncanny.
Highlighting KENZO‘s ongoing connection to the art world and the surreal, the brand’s Creative Directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, enlisted Director Partel Oliva and web/3D designers Kim Boutin and David Broner to bring their ideas to life in the digital world. The result is an interactive gallery space, where the user controls their journey.
Utilising interactive video, users are welcomed into a 3D virtual gallery space, in which they can control their on-screen movement using their iPad or tablet. The exhibition on display features a selection of artworks inspired by Sudanese-American model Grace Bol. As the user moves throughout the space, a story is revealed about the artworks being stolen and being replaced with a film of the heist.
The Pre-fall collection is revealed as each member involved in the heist is dressed in garments from the collection. Visitors are able to order the garments from the gallery’s virtual shop.
The videos and artwork will be displayed in an exhibition at the Galerie 12Mail/Red Bull Space in Paris, France. The exhibition will be on display from Wednesday 24 – Friday 26 September 2014.
