ArtBo in Bogota
Premiere artwork from some of Latin America’s most prominent artists, as well as art from visionaries around the world, will once again fall upon the city of Bogotá, Colombia as the 10th Feria International de Arte de Bogotá (ArtBo) takes place in the city.
The ArtBo event is the quintessential meeting point for the art market in Latin America and will house 66 galleries from international and Latin American artists inside the Corferias Bogotá Convention Centre.
Artists from Peter Halley to Jaime Gill, whose work invokes the graphic design tradition to make wall interventions with geometrical paintings, and Jaime Franco, who creates murals of architectural figures using mud as a primary material, are just some of the prominent figures featured in the gallery.
A total of 50 young Colombian artists, hand picked by renowned curator and critic Jaime Ceron, will also showcase their unique art in an exhibition that focuses on the contradiction and relationship between nature as a utopian thought and the urban landscape as its chaotic counterpart. The exhibition is titled “The Change of Everything Remains”.
“[The event] goes beyond celebrating the talent and the hard work of an entire industry,” and is a “chance to promote community through creativity,” Maria Paz Gaviria, ArtBo’s Director said.
ArtBo will run from Friday 24 – Monday 27 October 2014 at the Corferias Bogota Convention Centre in Bogotá, Colombia.
