Brilliant: Cartier in the 20th Century
Stunning jewellery, timepieces and precious objects created between 1900 and 1975 by the artistic designs of Cartier, will be the focus of an exhibition at the Denver Art Museum dubbed Brilliant: Cartier in the 20th Century.
In 1847 Louis-Francois Cartier founded the now famous jewellery and watches company in Paris. From those humble beginnings, he was able to launch his designs of jewellery and accessories across the world, making the company one of the most prestigious names in the field.
Cartier’s rise took place in the context of an increasingly cosmopolitan cultural scene and aligned with international, social, political and economic trends.
As a celebration of Cartier’s evolution and its rise to pre-eminence, the Brilliant: Cartier in the 20th Century exhibition will focus on the jewellery house of Cartier, by presenting a selection of themes that span time periods and styles to display the immense influence and innovation of the Maison.
The exhibition will run from Sunday 16 November 2014 – Sunday 15 March 2015 at the Denver Art Museum in US.
