Independent Photography Festival in Melbourne
A celebration of independent photography, its application and practice, is once again edging near, as the second annual Independent Photography Festival (IPF) is set to commence in Melbourne, Australia.
The goal of IPF is to “bring together the living, breathing artists,” from around the independent photographer ecosystem that make up inclusive but very screen-based discipline.
The festival will include a nine-day exhibition series by Australian photographers and international guests, whose work embodies the fabric of independence and the beautiful work that emerges from the practice. Works from photographers like Khali Kallah, whose photography is “predicated on the heart”, to Melbourne born Nick Carr’s work titled Commoner, which is a selection of photographs that depict everyday life with beauty in its simplicity, will be featured at the festival.
This years IPF was planned and prepared by the Hard Workers Club, Smalltime Projects and The Good Copy. Some of Melbourne’s best small galleries and project spaces will host the unique art that reflects the retrospective of the independent photographer.
The festival will run from Saturday 8 – Sunday 16 November 2014.
