Christopher Boots X Hermés: Metamorphosis
Bringing the light to New York City’s cold winters, Christopher Boots illuminates the holiday windows of Hermés’ flagship store along Madison Avenue in the iconic American city.
The work from the Australian lighting designer was commissioned by Hermés as a part of the Vitrine D’Artiste window program and in honour of the festive season. It features a number of sleekly designed lighting installations, as well as in store designs for the Hermés Men and Hermés Madison stores.
Dubbing the project Metamorphosis, ChristopherBoots has looked to the natural world for his inspiration, describing his designs as glowing beacons in the cold for New Yorkers to realise there is “light behind everything,” despite the city being in the depths of winter.
Christopher Boots’ installations contrast well against the delicate details and fabrics of Hermés scarves, jewellery and handbags and compliments the iconic brands emphasis on innovation, luxury and sophistication.
Metamorphosis is currently on display at the Hermés Madison Avenue store in New York and will be available to view until Thursday 15 January 2015.
