Haute Couture SS15: Opening
Paris Men’s Fashion Week has come to a close; only for the fashion capital to open up for the Haute Couture SS15 season.
Atelier Versace opened the season with an elegant, 70s inspired collection centred on asymmetry, arching cuts and the curves of a woman’s body.
Day two brought a number of interesting collections to the stage. Dior created an entire new space to showcase its SS15 Haute Couture collection with glossy white scaffolding and pink carpets. The collection was inspired by the romance of the 1950s, 1960s experimentation and the wild freedom of the 1970s. The result was a colourful combination of romantic party-dresses, plastic-printed coats, and catsuits all worn on second-skin stretch boots in various colours. Giambattista Valli presented a rock-chick inspired collection with puffy sleeves, embroideries, lace and silk all in black and white tones. In a contrasting manner Schiaparelli brought a fun and bold collection of tailored, clean-cut suits twisted by fun prints or pins. The colour palette was rich including blue, orange, hot pink, green and black.
