Summer Sundays
The National Gallery of Victoria in Australia have partnered with music label Mushroom Group to present Summer Sundays music program. Each Sunday in February, the garden at NGV International will host a free mini-outdoor music festival, showcasing the country’s young and upcoming local musicians.
Amongst the wide range of artists and DJs that will be performing at the festival are our two picks Lanie Lane and Husky. Lane who will be performing on Sunday 1 February 2015 recently released a new album called Night Shade three years after her debut album To the horses. The first album sent Lane on tour across the US and UK and won her a number of music awards. Night Shade was written upon Lane’s return from the international tour in a secluded area in the Australian bush. The album expressed her personal journey and the transition in her life, marked by bravery, adventure, honesty and inner growth. Watch the latest music video from the album opposite.
Indie band Husky will also be performing. Their music is known for their captivating lyrics, rolling rhythms and fine layers of sound. Included within their second album, a track titled Saint Joan recently won the $50,000 Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition. Watch an acoustic version of the award-winning song opposite.
NGV Summer Sundays will take place each Sunday in February at the NGV International, Melbourne, Australia.
