MasterSounds: Turntable Weights
MasterSounds presents a new edition of their turntable weight collection.
The turntable weights work by being positioned on the spindle of the turntable, which places weight on the vinyl record reducing vibration. Weighing 410 grams and supplied with a rubber anti-slip base, the weights stabilise records, which improves sound and bass response significantly. Mid-range and high frequency and the reduction of needle skips are also improved.
The MasterSounds’ turntable weights are designed by Ryan Shaw, A & R Manager of Eclectic Avenue Records, DJ and vinyl enthusiast, with great attention to detail from over 20 years of experience. Shaw’s experience of using turntable weights, before designing his own, was that many were too heavy. While extra weight is beneficial for those who are only listening to a record, those who DJ require much more agility. This has been adjusted for the MasterSounds turntable weights. Moreover, size-wise Shaw sought to create a product that fits practically into a record bag making them suitable for travelling DJs.
The new edition is presented in a satin black colour with copper engraving of the MasterSounds graphic. Only 100 of these limited edition pieces have been produced. Each of the weights are hand made and produced in premium quality aluminium with a hand brushed finish for a special effect and individual look. The weights are supplied in velvet pouches for transport and are available for sale at MasterSounds.
