Saint Laurent 38 Faubourg: New Concept
Saint Laurent re-open their 38 rue de Faubourg store in Paris.
Designed by Saint Laurent’s creative director Hedi Slimane, the newly renovated Paris space, is another step in the rebranding and renovation plans started by Slimane in 2012 for the iconic brand.
With a surface of 390 square meters the space is dedicated to showcasing women’s Ready to Wear collections and accessories, and expresses a contemporary version of French-style art deco with white veined matt finish marble, geometrical lines in mirrors, glass and metal and black Noire Soie polished finish marble. The space is decorated with vintage furniture handpicked by Hedi Slimane and features suspended hang-bars, mirror shelves, clear glass display counters and nickel-plated brass benches with quilted leather seats.
The special addition of Bamana masks from Mali, serve as a reminder of Yves Saint Laurent’s passion for Africa and the African art sculptures featured in the collection that Yves Saint Laurent himself created with Pierre Bergé, co-founder of the fashion house.
While the ground floor showcases women’s Ready to Wear collections and accessories, the first floor acts as a private salon for key Saint Laurent customers. Pieces from Danish craftsman Theo Ruth and French designers Jacque Adnet, André Sornay and Alfred Porteneuve based on drawings by Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann compliment the private space
The Saint Laurent space is located at 38 rue de Faubourg, Saint-Honoré. Paris, France.
