Salone del Mobile Milano 2015: Opening
The 54th edition of Salone del Mobile is set to commence. Renowned as a hub for quality and innovation, the fair will be presenting a wide range of collections accompanied by a variety of major events.
Over 2,000 exhibitors will be occupying the more than 200,000 m2 exhibition space at Salone del Mobile, which will also see thousands of products making their debut at the event. More than 300,000 visitors from over 160 countries are expected to attend the Salone del Mobile 2015 making it an international benchmark event year after year.
The fair is split into three style categories. The first one is Classic, Modern and Design, the second is International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition; and the third is SaloneSatellite. The three categories will be accompanied by Euroluce, the international lighting exhibition, and Workplace 3.0/SaloneUfficio, an exhibition dedicated to workspace design.
Inside Workplace3.0 a large-scale installation titled The Walk will be on exhibition. The installation by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi was conceived as an area for showcasing ideas and design triggers related to workspace planning and its contemporary interpretations.
Another event set to take place at Salone del Mobile 2015 is In Italy. Created by the architectural practice Four in the Morning to a design by Italian architect Dario Curatolo the event will feature 64 Italian manufacturers and designers, planners and architects. These participants will together be tackling the theme of products, design and planning. Their work will be presented innovatively through films showcasing Italian knowhow and uniqueness as well as the production processes behind each object. The result will be an installation and a smartphone App by the same name, In Italy, exploring five apartments created in five different styles. The app will be available for download after the conclusion of Salone del Mobile.
Salone del Mobile 2015 will take place from Tuesday 14 April 2015 – Sunday 19 April 2015 at the Rho Milan Fairgrounds, Milan, Italy.
