Simone Micheli for Barel
Barel presents a new collaboration with Tuscan designer and architect Simone Micheli for the upcoming 2015 edition of Salone del Mobile.
Barel, a family owned company through three generations, has a long proud tradition of forged iron craftsmanship. Since its establishment the company has managed to balance heritage and tradition with constant innovation across the renewal of styles and manufacturing processes. Barel’s current product range combines contemporary furniture designed in collaboration with key architects and designers, with the traditional medium of iron that has survived through the years.
Similarly, the new collaboration with Micheli merges Barel’s 50-year history and expertise in forged iron craftsmanship with Micheli’s designs resulting in a range of creations with a strong identity and uniqueness. Characteristic of the Barel company iron is a main element in both pieces, yet the manner in which it comes to expression takes the unconventional, contemporary twists, which Micheli is known for. The products sprung from the new collaboration include a floor lamp in solid forged iron and a bed in forged iron with wooden elements. The floor lamp measures 50cm in diameter with a height of 180cm making it a dominant art-piece of furniture for any contemporary interior design. The bed measures 250x120cm.
The full product range will be on display at 2015 Salone del Mobile, Milan, Italy, which commences on Tuesday 14 April 2015.
