Aston Martin X Valentino
Aston Martin and Valentino have come together to create the unique V12 Vanquish Volante car.
The Vanquish Volante was developed with Valentino’s creative directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli through Aston Martin’s bespoke service Q by Aston Martin. The car forms a special edition of a fully customised Vanquish car model and carries the camouflage pattern and studs in its finish that are Valentino’s hallmark. With a light aluminum structure and clothed in carbon fibre, the 565 bhp sports car can travel at 317 km/h (197 mph), and from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds.
The project was initiated as part of Cash and Rocket Tour a fundraising event, which the house of Valentino has supported for three consecutive years. The event forms a platform for high-end global brands to promote products in innovative ways while aiming at raising funds for charities around the world.
Both Aston Martin and Valentino seemed to enjoy the collaboration and the cause for which it was developed. According to Marek Reichman, CEO of Aston Martin the design team were excited to work alongside Valentino designers on the creation of “this piece of automotive haute couture”.
The proceedings from the car’s auction will be donated to Cash and Rocket’s three charity partners Shine on Sierra Leone, Orphanaid Africa and Sumbandila.
