Stanley Donwood: The Panic Office
Semi-Permanent and Carriageworks present an interactive retrospective exhibition titled The Panic Office.
Presented at one of Australia’s largest contemporary multi-art centres, Carriageworks, The Panic Office takes visitors on a journey through beauty in the subtext, providing context and understanding to the Stanley Donwood mind.
This focus on Donwood is the first of its kind and features thousands of pieces of his work with Radiohead. Donwood started working with the group in 1994 designing their albums as well as all associated artwork.
The Panic Office will display a wide range of pieces from Radiohead albums OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, In Rainbows and The King of Limbs. Amongst these works are some original and some unseen, but common for all is Donwood’s evocative and haunting imagery that helped to create one of the world’s most distinctive brands.
The exhibition will also include a number of artworks for Thom Yorke and Atoms for Peace as well as original works, paintings, prints and drawings by Donwood.
The Panic Office opens at Semi-Permanent Sydney on Thursday 21 May 2015 and remains open until Saturday 6 June 2015.
